Description

The story of this Hindall Yamaha DT-1 is a good one. Last year we went to the El Camino swap meet, and there I found a Hindall Yamaha DT-1 set up for enduro with the OEM Hindall body work (sorta looked like Rickman stuff though in red). Anyway, as soon as I got back I looked around AMS for the missing parts; pipe, carb, and Magnito cover to make it look a little more complete. Took some picture, put them on our site Wednesday. On Thursday I get an e-mail from Dennis Eaton in St. Louis that had just gone to look at a few vintage bikes for sale, and he said he thought one of them might be a Hindall also! And did I want the number of the guy? Well here it is, my 2nd Hindall DT-1 Yamaha. I was told by the man I got this bike from, that the Jones boys (with their father Don Jones) had stayed at their home more than once while racing the early MX Nationals. They turned them on to all these trick pieces, and suggested that Max, the man I got the bike from, have his own Hindall built for his DT-1. This is that bike as found under his tree in his backyard!
